Everlife Task Force

Only a Remedy

“I think through our lives we've been through a lot of different seasons I guess you can say with a lot of different people. And in every time, God has put someone there, whether it's like a band or a pastor or whoever it would be in different areas and it's been exactly what we've needed.” - Sarah

Music Quotient

Sarah: It's been so cool. I think through our lives we've been through a lot of different seasons I guess you can say with a lot of different people. And in every time, God has put someone there, whether it's like a band or a pastor or whoever it would be in different areas and it's been exactly what we've needed. Everlife talks about God's providenceWe realize that in all of those times there was always someone there to be encouraging and to say, "You're doing a great job" or "Maybe you can work on this" - and someone that we really respect. I think it's really cool with the team that we have now. Whenever we moved to Nashville we were like, "We didn't come to get signed" or all that stuff, you know? We're like, "Alright God, we feel like we're supposed to be here, so who are the people you want us to be with?" And so, the team that we have now is just so amazing because we feel like it's a big family. If that makes sense at all.

Amber: And working with Shelter Records and Gary Chapman has been amazing because it's awesome to meet a veteran of the music business and we're like the new kids on the block just rising up. To be able to have that wisdom is just priceless.

Sarah: The other day we went out to eat with him and we were like, "So Gary, who do you know? Who have you met?"

Disneymania, Vol. 3

Julia: We were freaking out!

Sarah: And we were naming these people and we're like, "You're so cool!!"

all: laughing

MQ: Do you want to talk about your work with Disney and Disney Mania?

Amber: It's been amazing and really surprising.

Sarah: It's been really fast! It was a couple of months back when we went to Texas and met with Radio Disney and they were like, "This is cool. You know, we really get it. We understand." And we had the opportunity to do Disney Mania 3, which is an album that just came out, and we recorded a song from the TARZAN soundtrack called 'Strangers Like Me.' So, we did that record and then we did a live DVD for it in Disneyland. It was our first time in Disneyland which was really cool! We were excited about that.

Everlife goes to Disneyland

Amber: We went on every single ride. It was awesome.

Sarah: We did. We were freaking out. We were like, "Yeah, we've never been here before and you can tell!" We did a DVD for that which comes out for sale in August.

Julia: And the song I'M OVER IT which is our single playing right now is on Radio Disney Jams 7.

Amber: The people we're working with even. We kind of sat back at first and were like, "We don't really get this! Why are you doing this?" A lot of people that we were working with at Disney are saying "You know what, we really respect that you believe in something and you're not going to back down." And they just said we need more positive people that are going to encourage kids.

Sarah: And we were like, okay! (raising hand)

Lilo & Stitch

Amber: And so, I think its really cool. There are a few movies that they're going to be coming out with. A new LILO AND STITCH movie where we're going to be able to do an Elvis song.

MQ: Cool.

Julia: (singing) "Don't be cruel...."

all: laughing

MQ: Going back to your CD, how would you describe your music to someone that has never heard it.

Sarah: We're really bad at this!

MQ: Sorry - I know, typical interview question but...

Sarah: We're like, "Just come to our show. We don't know what we sound like!"

all: laughing

Amber: Sarah said something this morning that was interesting. She said, "We're writing for our age group basically, saying this is what we've been through" - like we said before with life experiences. Everlife talks about their albumWe just kind of pulled from everything we've been through. And we've been writing our songs for such a really long time and being able to work with Kevin and Dan on this project was really challenging, because when you write with other people you have to go to a whole different level. And we tried to write not just for sixteen to twenty-five or whatever, but everybody younger and older and I think that, like, sometimes when we sit back and kind of listen to the record after not hearing it for a while and think, "I think we hit a lot of different nerves in each of the songs." It just kind of came together. And a lot of people say, "Oh, I really didn't like our first record and I really didn't have the input I wanted to." And I think we're really blessed to say that we just - we love the project.

Sarah: I think that what we tried to do style-wise like Julia said. We grew up on fifties and sixties rock and that's really the core of what we are and what we love. It's our favorite kind of style. So we wanted to put that into it and also have the pop side too, as well, which kind of fit together.

MQ: What's your concert like? What can we expect?

Sarah: It's a lot of fun. The three of us play. Amber is on guitar. I'm on guitar too. I play drums but I'm not playing right now. Julia plays keyboard too, which we're going to be putting into it. We have a backup band behind us as well - drums, bass, and guitar. It's just rock and roll...

Amber: Lots of energy!

Sarah: We have fun. What we love to do in the middle of the set is break it down to acoustic and a cappella because that's how we started. So, to have that - and then at the end to bring it back up again with all the energy.
